Which is the best/proper way of “hishigami”?
I want to rewrap the hilt of my samurai Sword and my friend said use “hishigami” to make it stronger.
I’ve found two methods so far…..
1. get a long cardboard strip cut out to look like a sequence of <|-|> running vertically and glue it down the length of the hilt and so forth
or, and for some reason I am leaning more towards
2. fold two sheets of rice paper and glue them along the length of the hilt, and cut out separate/individual triangles and weave them in.
Which one is the strongest/nicest?
