Japanese Sword Mountings

Does anyone know the best way to remove an edge from a Sword without damaging it?

I’ve been trying to find a functional sakabato ( reverse-blade katana for those who don’t know ) that doesn’t have a sharpened edge so that its lika an iato blade but haven’t had any luck. Since I’ve found a functional sakabato with an edge I’ve decided that it might be easier to just remove the edge from that but need to know how to do it without damaging The Sword so that I can still use it. I know this sounds weird since when most people think of sword they think “slice and dice” but I need a sword like this for use in trying to create a sword style that incapcitates an opponent with minimal damge possible with it without using techniques that were originally designed to kill.

I would only have a professional do it personally and they would probably use either some Laser or crystal’s to dull it yet keep it looking good and not scratched up.
